Fireworks Extension Concepts
I like to have fun when I work. That's why I use Fireworks, and that's why I create extensions; that's also why I share those extensions with the community. However, I still don't have endless time to invest. Below is a incomplete list of serious extension concepts which I have yet to find time to complete. There are several reasons I am posting them here:
- If you are an extension developer who would like to collaborate to see one of these extensions come into existence.
- If you are a Fireworks user who can help in any way to make something here happen.
- If you are an investor interested in working with me to develop a commercial extension.
- General feedback from the Fireworks community is always appreciated.
Mesh Warp Command
Bend and warp a vector selection based on a mesh deformation.
Status: functional prototype, need to build Fireworks UI
Particlism Command
Select objects and push them around with various particle effect type modifiers.
Status: early research and planning, 100% feasibility confirmed
Shape Brush Command
A brush like tool which draws objects from Fireworks.
Status: early research and planning, 100% feasibility confirmed
Vector Effect Commands
Various vector effects.
Status: Deform to Path and Offset Path included in Fireworks CS4 via the Path panel and as standalone Path commands. Scatter is complete but not released. Stroke Path is functional but not yet bug free and not released.
Font Browser Panel
A panel which shows all fonts with type previews, and allows you to select favorites and add tags to fonts for searching. Future plans to syncronize font data to web for portability and communal tagging.
Status: concept only; implementation should be relatively easy, just looking for time
